School - Project Description:

To create a prototype school that will ultimately be the model for many schools to come in open-minded communities throughout the world.  This new school will change the face of the current education system in preparation for the new paradigm.

There is an opportunity to create the first school on lower Vancouver Island.  There are facilities available for our use, students ready to attend, and teachers that are being prepared in the student-centered approach to education.

Immediate funding is required to acquire the property, implement upgrades, promotion, hire new staff, student admissions, etc.


Anticipated impact and benefits:

The students who attend the school will realize the immediate impact of an education and day to day format that has been designed specifically for them.

This system will be open to student suggestions and will suit the needs of all children and youth that are called to attend.

The long term benefits will be to revolutionize the education system that is archaic and no longer serving the children of today.

This prototype school will be so successful that it will serve as the model for many more to come.  After proven success this model will expand to three schools across North America that will eventually spread its wings with international exposure.


Time frame to accomplish tasks within 12-month period:

With funding in place, our anticipation is that the school can open under the auspices of the Legacy of the Rose Society in time for the start of the new school year. 


Profile of Organization:

The Legacy of the Rose Society is a recent incorporation, January 2008, intended as a not-for-profit society to create a school for the up-coming school year.

The director Peter Tongue and his executive team have been actively working together, full-time, for the last two years to set the vision into action.  Peter himself has 30 years experience in independent education, most recently as Director of the Senior School at St. Michaels University School in Victoria, BC.  Peter’s vision to create new schools that serve the needs of ALL students began nine years ago.  This team is extremely well-equipped in experience, understanding and expertise to fulfill this mission for the children of today.

The governance will be in accordance with the British Columbia standards for the Not-for-Profit Society as well as for the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).  That is to say that there is a Board of Directors and an appointed Headmaster of the school.

The number of employees for the running of the first school assuming that we will have between 150-200 students will be forty (40).

The directors of the society live in Victoria, British Columbia and the intention is to set up the first prototype school on lower Vancouver Island.  The concept for the school is not limited to any place beyond the first prototype.  This will be a model for many more to come!


Location:

The school will be sited on sacred land including open fields, trees, flowing water and beautiful views.  It will be used to grow food, plants, herbs and trees and those students that wish to will learn how to study and care for the plants on the land.  There will also be a small number of animals kept on the school land and some of the students will learn how to look after these animals and connect with them energetically at a higher level of consciousness.

Buildings will be built to fit in with the natural landscape and will be consciously designed according to the principals of Sacred Geometry and Environmental Sustainability.  

Classrooms, science labs and auditoriums will be fully equipped with up to date technology and computer services.

Students will have the opportunity to be involved in artistic productions including music, dance and theatre in a suitably designed auditorium.  The school will have a sanctuary available for private prayer and meditation as well as group sacred ceremony honoring all religions and spiritual practice serving the greatest good of all.  There will also be a healing centre where practitioners will be available to heal and teach their gifts to the children who are interested.



The signal for the beginning of planetary transformation is when the children come into the World conscious of their purpose to bring peace to the Earth. 

That time is now upon us and it is our job and responsibility as adults of this World to allow the children to move into their power – to hold sacred space for them and create a safe and secure place for the children to stand up and speak their truth.
